Chris Kelso, Branch Manager
Chris Kelso is a senior loan officer and branch manager for Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation in Houston. He has over 14 years of experience in the mortgage industry, helping customers achieve the dream of financing a new or pre-owned home. Chris brings excitement and passion to his job, and strives to find the very best loan programs for his customers.
Prior to joining Fairway, Chris worked in the information technology and finance fields as vice president to regional manager and senior consultant with companies like Prime Lending, Willow Bend Mortgage, Reliant Energy, Computer Associates, i4cast (a division of Hewlett Packard) and Support Technologies. Chris began his career in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1992, as the head of marketing and sales for a diversified products company (MYSDA). He is fluent in Spanish, having lived in Mexico for over 22 years. Chris’ mantra is simple – Live life to the fullest!
Cary M. Cox, Branch Manager Operations & Origination
With over twenty years of experience, Cary Cox has been involved in the real estate and mortgage industries his entire professional career. Prior to joining The Kelso Group at Fairway Independent Mortgage, he owned his own mortgage banking and real estate company. Because of his real estate experience, Cary knows the importance of communicating with all parties – his client, their Realtor, and the seller's Realtor during a purchase transaction. This knowledge helps him navigate mortgage transactions smoothly and efficiently.
Cary is a native Houstonian and graduated from Memorial High School, a nationally recognized exemplary school. He has a BA from The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, Cary continued his education and completed the post-graduate curriculum to become a licensed real estate and mortgage banker.
Cary’s goal is to be an advisor and consultant to his clients before, during, and after the mortgage transaction. His approach is to listen carefully to his clients’ needs and objectives, while providing the best solution to meet them. Cary provides traditional mortgages and is also a Reverse Mortgage Specialist. His mortgage ethos is to treat every client – Professionally, Respectfully, Fairly & Honestly.
